Payoneer is a platform for receiving payments and sending money across borders, popular with sellers on Shopify, Etsy, Amazon, Fiverr and Stripe. Here's how to work with it from Russia and Belarus.

Restrictions

In March 2022, Payoneer suspended operations in Russia and Belarus because of sanctions, so you can't register an account directly from either country. That said, there are several ways around it.

Option 01Your own company in the US or UK

You register a company in your name and open a Payoneer account for it as the owner. Going through the US costs at least $500 if you do it yourself and from $900 through a service provider, and it takes 10-20 business days. The UK route is noticeably cheaper. Whether the account gets opened is up to the payment platform itself, based on its review of the owner.

Option 02In your own name while living in a third country

You can set up an account yourself through Armenia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey and other countries. The main challenge is proving your local address and presence there.

Our HelpCompany formation with MakeItEarn

We guide you through registering a US company in your name, getting a tax ID (EIN) and opening a Payoneer account for the company - you remain the sole owner of both the company and the account.
